Love this article generally, and this in particular ... Quoting:

As scholar of Gnosticism Stephan Hoeller points out, the Gnostics and Buddhists (and Hindus) held that the “way out” of the world’s darkness is through “an essential, salvific change in consciousness.”¹ Without raising awareness to “higher” realities, the soul’s enslavement continues.

Simply noticing human suffering and then bitching about it does not make one a “Gnostic,” any more than watching the NBA makes you a Chicago Bull.

Thank you for this write-up. It addresses precisely the problem I've observed. You mention black-pillers, "love and light"-only types, and political theater voyeurs. I'd like to add to that list a marked lack of epistemic humility. While many of them are well-meaning, unassailably kind folk (as people say David Icke is), their words perpetuate duality and attchment to control narratives.

Well said, Cael, I don't disagree. The lack of epistemic humility is breathtaking and is a systemic problem throughout the "truther" community. Ugh.

This is such a needed clarification. I see so many people today picking up the “earth is broken, let’s eject” storyline without ever touching the other half of the old Gnostic map—actual contact with the fullness, the real luminosity that those traditions were pointing toward. It’s wild how often the “earth = bad” sentiment is really just unprocessed pain wearing a metaphysical costume. When trauma stays underground, everything looks like a trap, even when it isn’t. And you’re right: calling that despair “gnosis” is a stretch. Gnosis isn’t bitterness dressed up as cosmology. It’s an inner shift in consciousness. It’s experience, not aesthetic. The ancient traditions, Gnostic, Buddhist, and Hindu, weren’t trying to get people to doom-scroll the cosmos. They were pointing toward liberation through awareness, through an encounter with the deeper reality underneath all this noise. And without that encounter? Yeah, it collapses into a black-and-white cartoon: earth bad, heaven good, beam me up.

Thank you for bringing nuance back into a conversation that’s gotten flattened by trends and trauma. This is the part people forget: that you don’t escape the darkness by resenting it, you outgrow it through transformation.

Excellent BroStar Brendan!!!…I always grokked you were another Aeon/Syzygy…I couldn’t agree more…& I love the Black Pill analogy!!!…Mofos need to be introduced to alchemy and The Tree of Death…there’s no “overcoming” nor eradicating “darkness” & demons, arch demons, nor archons…it’s about integrating the polarity, reclaiming them, and welcoming them home…then they stop fighting you and start fighting for you…we all have the capacity to create or destroy…for light or darkness…good or evil…Divinity or Demonic behavior and consciousness..what you don’t own manifests externally …I still adore Joseph Campbell’s comment, “My definition of a Devil is just a God(Dess) not recognized.”…Boy we have our work cut out for us Triggering Remembrance in the human family of what it is to be both human as opposed to an animal/hylic…not to mention our Original Divine Blueprint as Divine Humans…Rocksome KnightStar!!!…🙏🏻⚡️💝🌈⚔️🌹🐲☀️🌟🪞👊🏻

When we step away from the absoluteness of anything, Gnostics or otherwise, we give rise to possibility, openness, new insights, and deep present awareness. We are already awake. We have merely forgotten. The mad chase to "awaken" through any of these pathways only takes us further from it. Then we laugh at our human attempts to find something that was never taken from us to begin with.
